9-11 Truth: A Story On the Verge of Breaking Through
Slowly or quickly, steadily or abruptly, truth emerges

It's the story of an irresistible force and an immovable object. The irresistible force of truth is slamming against the dense, thick Matrix. The popular movement to discover and expose what really happened on September 11, 2001 continues to grow apace as more and more of the Bush Administration's lies come to light. This huge story is on the verge, finally, of breaking through the matrix and unraveling a significant section of it. Soon, the complicity or ignorance of the corporate media and the corporate political parties surrounding 9-11 could be known to many more than the millions already in the movement.
How many millions now suspect that the official story about 9-11 is a cover-up? Polls have shown that: 49% of New Yorkers believe the government "knew in advance about the attacks and consciously chose not to act;" a stunning 66% of New Yorkers believe the official Kean-Zelikow 9-11 Commission was flawed and want a new investigation; and a whopping 72% of all Americans nationwide believe that the Bush Administration is either hiding some facts or outright lying about what happened on 9-11.
Regular Garlic & Grass readers are aware of our persistence on this issue. We began with our third issue, Did Bush Know?, in 2002, at a time when we were only beginning to have doubts about the official story. We felt certain about neither the official story nor the alternate stories. It seemed to be too much, too far a leap, to consider alternate theories. 9-11 was a horrendous massacre, and any lies about its causes would be tremendous federal and moral crimes. It's one thing to lie to gain power, another to abet the murder of 3,000 people. Yet we had to confront the dozens of astounding questions, as well as the fact that nothing about the official story had ever been proven.
After "Did Bush Know?," and after watching events develop over the ensuing year, most of us here at G&G began to conclude that the official story couldn't be true. The publication of the Kean-Zelikow 9-11 Commission's report, which contained more misinformation and obvious outright lies, only led us to have deeper worries. We then returned to the questions surrounding 9-11 with our sixth issue, Celsius 9-11: Hotter Than Michael Moore. We spent countless hours in preparing that issue, researching the dozens of glaring lies and half-truths told by the Commission, offered by Bush administration officials, and steadily passed along through the media. We interviewed renowned scholar-turned-activist David Ray Griffin, and reviewed his excellent and patient 9-11 book, The New Pearl Harbor. We researched the possibility of three steel skyscrapers collapsing due to fire in a single day, when none had ever collapsed due to fire in the previous 100 years. We examined the bizarre failure of our trillion-dollar military to respond via either fighter jets or ground-to-air resistance from the Pentagon. We looked at the strange behavior on that fateful day of George Bush himself and the top officials in his administration.
We found we could come to only one conclusion: there is a massive cover-up going on. This has to be the biggest story of this young century. We compiled a simple and straightforward list of The Top Ten Questions About 9-11, and called for a new, truly independent investigation – one that would include questions of possible government foreknowledge or complicity.
Incompetence simply cannot explain the dozens of lies and bizarre occurrences. Furthermore, if tremendous incompetence was indeed responsible for the events of 9-11, why has no one been fired? Complicity seems to be the only explanation that accounts for all of the facts. And it accounts for the facts surprisingly well.

Straight from UPI International. UPI Correspondent John Daly reports that a government official has confirmed Don Paul's theory (above) that the World Trade Center collapsed due to controlled demolition rather than fire from jet fuel:
A Bush team member during the first administration, Morgan Reynolds, is now voicing serious doubts about the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9-11.
Former chief economist for the Department of Labor during President George
W. Bush's first term, Reynolds comments that the official story
about the collapse of the WTC is "bogus," and that it is more likely that a
controlled demolition destroyed the Twin Towers and adjacent Building No.
7. Reynolds, who also served as director of the Criminal Justice Center at
the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas and is now professor
emeritus at Texas A&M University said, "If demolition destroyed three
steel skyscrapers at the World Trade Center on 9/11, then the case for an
'inside job' and a government attack on America would be compelling."
Reynolds commented from his Texas A&M office, "It is hard to exaggerate
the importance of a scientific debate over the cause of the collapse of
the Twin Towers and Building 7. If the official wisdom on the collapses is
wrong, as I believe it is, then policy based on such erroneous engineering
analysis is not likely to be correct either. The government's collapse
theory is highly vulnerable on its own terms. Only professional demolition
appears to account for the full range of facts associated with the
collapse of the three buildings."

Ultimately, as the saying goes, truth outs. Slowly, surely, steadily. Or quickly, suddenly, overnight. With something as huge as 9-11, which continues to serve as the justification for wildly escalating wars abroad and wildly escalating repression at home, the irresistible force of truth is massive indeed. There is also the desire inherent in the American people to be free, fair, and honest, and to be a good force in the world. Together, this will be too much to keep the truth about 9-11 hidden for much longer.
For the record, we at G&G don't pretend to know exactly what that truth is, only that the Bush Administration has something enormous to hide.
And today, as the truth about the Iraq War is emerging, and already over 50% of the American public believes that that ongoing disaster was wrong from the start, people are beginning to consider that if this administration could lie about critical life and death issues facing the nation in order to profit from a massive war, couldn't they also lie about critical life and death issues in order to profit from a massive attack within our own country?
This thinking – the thirst for truth – is an irresistible force.
