In response to 'The Media Matrix Hides a Party', by Sam Smith:

Garlic & Grass is a moderate-green party forum that has just enough educational information to eek into the realm of pseudo-quazi-objective. That being said, 'The Media Matrix' opened the kimono a little too far.

Poll-based numbers, calculations, statistics, percentages, and color coded maps may appear quite convincing upon initial review. However, as a student of statistics and persuasion I must inquire; where is the empirical data regarding the questions, sample size, demographic, survey conductor, etc? Without having a URL to the actual survey how do we know if its questions were collectively exhaustive and mutually exclusive?

There were some massively broad statements about 'Americans.' If you are going to showcase an article that speaks of 'Americans,' then you better prove that the survey population consisted of random individuals of all voting age brackets, ethnicities, and physical abilities from all 50 states... and let us not forget Puerto Rico! If I poll 100 people of my choosing I'll present statistics that prove:
A.) 95% of Americans are Vampires
B.) 95% of Americans are Vegans
C.) 95% of Americans are Veterans
D.) 95% of Americans are Democrats

Bottom line, if you want to make a point and move people in your direction, go a few layers deeper. That article was too broad and raised too many red flags. The only ones not raising an eyebrow are those already so Green they?re blind to the articles? flaws. Feature articles of integrity, substance, and validity, not ?The Media Matrix Hides a Party.? Garlic and Grass can do better!
